Let's go back in time and explore the historic WOLCOTT HOUSE MUSEUM COMPLEX. Costumed docents will personally guide our group through the complex and provide narration an authenticity to our tour. There are seven historic buildings in the complex which are filled with art and artifacts which represent 19th century life and culture as it was in the Maumee River Valley. We will also see the original Federal-style 1836 home of James and Mary Wolcott which displays period antiques and Native American artifacts. We will also tour an 1840 Greek Revival townhouse, an 1841 Ohio saltbox farmhouse, an 1850 log house, an 1880 Toledo and Grand Rapids Railroad station, a 1901 Gothic style church and a box schoolhouse.
It is time to switch gears and experience the ambiance, the charm, and the elegance of CLARA J's TEA ROOM. The Tea Room offers an intimate setting in a gracious historic home where we will dine at lovely tables adorned with an eclectic mix of fine china. Of course, we will sip on tea, hot or iced and enjoy a "tea room" sweet. Select one from the following: Vegetarian Quiche includes tea bread and specialty salad or Chicken Salad on specialty greens with tea bread and fresh fruit or Clara J's Signature Ribbon Sandwich which features chicken salad, spinach and herbs and cream cheese with specialty salad and chips. Be sure to visit the Neapolitan Gift Shop which offers a variety of gifts and accessories.
An open-air mall setting offers so much more than a traditional enclosed center. This is what we will find at THE SHOPS AT FALLEN TIMBERS. Relax and stroll along a striking streetscape overlooking two lakes and explore the boardwalk area which offers an exciting array of department and specialty stores for our shopping pleasure.
A great way to end our trip will be a stop at DJ's COFFEE AND ICE CREAM. Enjoy building your own sundae with soft serve ice cream and choose from an array of tasty toppings from the Toppings Bar. Everyone will also enjoy a cup of their delicious coffee.
