DICKENS VICTORIAN VILLAGE CHRISTMAS
CAMBRIDGE, OHIO
WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 5, 2018

A costumed guide will board our motorcoach and stay with the group for the duration of our tour.  Our guide will provide interesting facts and lead us on a DICKENS VICTORIAN VILLAGE DRIVING TOUR to take in all the sites along Main Street.  We will learn how the Village was started and how it has grown to what it is today.  Volunteers in costume will share stories and photos of how the Dickens display was created when we visit the DICKENS WELCOME CENTER.  We'll explore the IMAGINATION STATION and take photos in period costume with Mr. Dickens himself.  Take time to shop for souvenirs and gifts in YE OLE CURIOSITY SHOPPE.   A Lunch Buffet will be waiting for us at MR. LEE'S FAMILY RESTAURANT, which is known for quality home cooking.  Housed in John Glenn's boyhood home is the JOHN & ANNIE GLENN HISTORIC SITE.   We will step back to a simpler time and enjoy the modest holiday decorations which include a Christmas tree adorned with vintage ornaments, popcorn garland, silver tinsel and colored lights.  Our next stop will be at KENNEDY'S BAKERY.  The bakery continues with Kennedy family tradition, in which everything is made from scratch the same day and they are still using the same family recipes since the inception of the bakery in 1925.   On CAMBRIDGE MAIN STREET explore the charming streetscape and browse the eclectic shops and eateries of Historic Cambridge.  Take a stroll and read the plaques at the base of each of the Dickens scenes.  At the COURTHOUSE HOLIDAY LIGHT SHOW, the courthouse comes alive with thousands of pulsating lights synchronized to holiday music.  The 1881 building is bathed in colored lights including animated light displays and lights outlining the building.  There are benches located on the courthouse lawn for your viewing pleasure.  Dinner will be on our own at a fast-food restaurant.

On Wednesday, December 5, 2018, we will depart via deluxe motorcoach from the parking lot behind the Duane Building on Black River Lane, Lorain, at 7:15 AM.  At 7:30 AM we will arrive and load at Sheffield Center on Rt. 254 (North Ridge Road), in the parking lot of the Buckeye Community Bank.  Please park at the southern-most end of the parking lot as close to North Ridge Road as possible.  Please do not park in front of the bank. Our approximate arrival time home will be 9:30 PM at Sheffield Center and 9:45 PM at the parking lot behind the Duane Building on Black River Lane.
