Let's go back in time for a little while as we experience the LIBERTY AVIATION MUSEUM IN Port Clinton, Ohio. It was established in 1991 by a handful of dedicated volunteers with a love of World War II aircraft. The museum is now caretaker to the rare Ford Tri-motor and the World War II B-25 Mitchell Bomber. They have also have on display the refurbished B-25 "Georgie's Gal." There is more to see and much to learn as we explore this unique and unusual museum.
Port Clinton and the nearby Lake Erie Islands are closely associated with the history of the War of 1812 and the Battle of Lake Erie. With that in mind, so was born the 1812 FOOD & SPIRTS for our dining pleasure. Please choose from the following entrees: Strip Steak- 8oz. Chargrilled Petite New York Strip Steak with Cassoulet Potatoes or Lake Perch - Fresh Lake Erie Yellow Perch lightly breaded and deep fried with Cassoulet Potatoes or Chicken Picatta - Free range Chicken Breast lightly battered and sautéed in a white wine lemon butter sauce with capers, tomatoes and artichokes served over Angel Hair Pasta or Alfredo Asparagus - Fettuccini tossed in creamy alfredo sauce with fresh asparagus and topped with shaved parmesan cheese. All the above meals are served with a tossed salad and homemade celery seed dressing, bread and butter, homemade two-layer carrot cake with cream cheese frosting and a non-alcoholic beverage.
After lunch we will head for downtown MARBLEHEAD for some shopping time. Some of the featured shops include Desdemona's offering nautical art, The Pink Perch gift shop, Rocky Point Winery, Marblehead Mercantile, Martha and Molly's, Marblehead Soap Company and Village Clothing. There will also be a stop at the MARBLEHEAD LIGHTHOUSE. The Lighthouse and Museum will not be available for a tour but you may explore the area surrounding the lighthouse.
