OIL CREEK & TITUSVILLE RAILROAD MURDER MYSTERY DINNER
JULY 27-28, 2019
SATURDAY, JULY 27, 2019: Following a 7:45 am Breakfast Buffet at the John A. Spitzer Conference Center located at Lorain County Community College, 1005 North Abbe Road, Elyria, we will depart by luxury motorcoach at 8:30 am. Lunch today will be at COAL OIL JOHNNY'S EATERY. Our group will be treated to homestyle cooking in a rustic atmosphere. After lunch we will visit and tour the DRAKE WELL MUSEUM. This museum traces the discovery and production of oil in Western Pennsylvania from the first uses by Native Indians through the discovery and establishment of the first well in 1859 by Edwin Drake to the present day. Later in the afternoon we will arrive at our very unique accommodations for the evening - THE CABOOSE MOTEL. The Caboose Motel is located on the tracks next to the Perry Street Station. This is an adventure in itself as all guests will be staying in an actual caboose for the night. No need to worry as each caboose has all the amenities and comforts of any regular hotel room. After check-in we will all walk over to the PERRY STREET STATION. Our murder mystery begins at the station where we will enjoy a Buffet Dinner. After dinner we will make our way to the OIL CREEK & TITUSVILLE RAILROAD and board the mystery train, where we will ride the rails from 6:15 pm until our arrival back to the depot at approximately 9:00 pm. Dessert will be served at the station and the resolution of the mystery will be revealed.
SUNDAY, JULY 28, 2019: After breakfast at a fast-food restaurant on your own, we will make our way to the KINZUA SKY WALK. The Kinzua Bridge State Park Visitor Center is a state-of-the-art building facility that will orient visitors to the Kinzua Bridge and the surrounding area. The original viaduct was completed in 1882 and was once the highest and longest railroad viaduct in the world. Today, this engineering marvel has been reinvented as a new pedestrian walkway offering a stunning view of the Kinzua Gorge. You may stroll out on the remaining support towers to stand and peer down into a partial glass platform on the viewing deck. It's breathtaking!!! We will enjoy lunch at the BARRELL HOUSE RESTAURANT & TAVERN before we depart for the KEYSTONE SAFARI. This 143-acre safari park offers all kinds of animals that you may see up close and personal. Be sure to bring you camera. At the end of our day we will visit the GROVE CITY PREMIUM OUTLETS. Bargains, bargains, bargains with up to 25& to 65% off in many of the name brand outlet stores. Enjoy dinner here on your own. We are scheduled back to Lorain County Community College at approximately 9:00 pm.
