SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 29, 2018: Our motorcoach arrives at 6:15 AM to Lorain County Community College, 1005 Abbe Road, Elyria, where we will load luggage and passengers. We depart at 6:30 AM. After an early morning rest stop, we continue traveling until we stop for lunch at a fast food restaurant, which is at the expense of the passenger. In the afternoon we will arrive in Herkimer, New York. We will make our way to GEMS ALONG THE MOHAWK and board the LIL' DIAMOND for a 1.5 hours cruise arranged by ERIE CANAL CRUISES. After our cruise, we will enjoy dinner at the WATERFRONT GRILL at Gems Along the Mohawk. We will travel on to Utica, New York to our accommodations for the night, which are at the HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS.
SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 30, 2018: We will depart our hotel after breakfast. Lunch is on you own again today. We will travel today until we arrive at our accommodations at ANCHORAGE BY THE SEA in Ogunquit, ME. There will be free time at the hotel which offers indoor and outdoor pools, hot tubs and the Surf Point Grill 360. It is close enough to walk to downtown Ogunquit, Ogunquit Beach and the Marginal Way Walk along the rocky coast. Prior to dinner at the SURF POINT GRILL 360 our group will enjoy a COCKTAIL CRUISE. Relax on this late afternoon cruise and enjoy the rocky coast from the town of Ogunquit, south of Perkins Cove, to Bald Head Cliff, all while sipping on a glass of wine.
MONDAY, OCTOBER 1, 2018: Breakfast will be at Surf Point Grill 360 and then it's off to a step-on-guided tour of HISTORIC YORK. Sites include York Beach, York Village, York Harbor and Cape Neddick. Lunch will be on your own and then we will enjoy a narrated lobstering trip, with first-hand lobstering experience, aboard the FINESTKIND. Dinner will be at OARWEED RESTAURANT before we return to our beautiful hotel by the sea.
TUESDAY, OCTOBER 2, 2018: After breakfast we will depart for Rockland, ME., where we will visit and enjoy a guided tour through the FARNSWORTH ART MUSEUM which houses American Art with emphasis on artists with Maine ties. Lunch will be on your own in Camden, ME. and there will be time to explore Camden's harbor, shops, boutiques and restaurants. In the afternoon we will drive the peak of MOUNT BATTLE for sweeping views of Camden Village and harbor, Penobscot Bay and the surrounding islands. Our accommodations for tonight will be at the ACADIA INN in Bar Harbor, ME. and dinner will be at a nearby restaurant.
WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 3, 2018: After breakfast today, we will enjoy a narrated cruise of FRENCHMAN BAY. Delight in the coastal Maine scenery as you view the many waterfront mansions and ACADIA NATIONAL PARK. A naturalist will narrate on board as we keep an eye out for local wildlife such as seals, osprey, harbor porpoises and eagles. There will be free time in the downtown area of Bar Harbor for shopping. Lunch is on you own. The afternoon brings a driving tour through the magnificent ACADIA NATIONAL PARK. Tonight .. a traditional Maine dinner at BAR HARBOR LOBSTERBAKES and then returning to the Acadia Inn.
THURSDAY, OCTOBER 4, 2018: After breakfast we depart our hotel and make a stop at CENTER FOR MAINE CRAFTS. This retail store and gallery sells and exhibits the work of over 300 Maine craft artists. Lunch is on you own. In the afternoon we arrive at the MAINE NARROW GAUGE RAILROAD CO. AND MUSEUM. There will be time to explore the museum and enjoy a train ride. Later there will be a step-on-guided tour of Portland. There will be a stop at the Portland Head Light and a narrated tour of Portland's historic landmarks. Along with history of the town, we will see the last standing maritime observatory in the U.S. - Casco Bay, the Wadsworth-Longfellow Home and Victoria Mansion. Dinner will be at DI'MILLOS ON THE WATER. Our accommodations tonight are at the HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS AND SUITES in South Portland.
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 5, 2018: We will enjoy breakfast and then depart for Freeport. There will be shopping time and a FALL FESTIVAL on the L.L. Bean campus and Freeport Village Station courtyard. Browse the best of New England artists and makers of fine crafts and sample all of the others attractions on site. We will depart Maine in the afternoon and lunch and dinner is on you own. We will check into the HAMPTON INN in Oneonta, New York tonight.
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 6, 2018: After breakfast we will depart for Corning, New York and visit the CORNING MUSEUM OF GLASS. Lunch will be at the Museum Cafι and for those who wish, there is an optional session where you may create your own piece of pumpkin glass. The cost is an additional $32.00 per person. Dinner is on your own in Erie, PA. and we are scheduled to arrive back at Lorain County Community College at 9:00 PM.
