The magnificent MEADOW BROOK HALL, located in Rochester, Michigan, is a 100-room Tudor mansion that has been carefully preserved with original furnishings, and is used as a cultural and conference center on the campus of Oakland University.  Meadow Brook Hall is the former home of Matilda Dodge Wilson, widow of automobile magnate John Dodge and her second husband, Alfred Wilson.  This National Historic Landmark was constructed in 1926 and 1929 for $4 million and is one of the finest examples of Tudor-revival architecture in America.  The home with its expansive collection provides visitors with insight into local history and it is unlike any place you have seen before.

After our tour today, we will enjoy a delightful lunch in Meadow Brook Hall featuring roast breast of chicken, with mushroom cream sauce, wild rice blend, seasonal vegetable, roll and butter, apple pie and coffee or tea.

After lunch, you will have time a brief time to visit the gift shop at Meadow Brook Hall before we depart for MORLEY CANDY MAKERS featuring SANDERS FINE CHOCOLATES.   Our factory tour will include a brief video, a guided walk down the observation walkway to see candy makers at work, free samples and a stop in their fun candy and gift shop.  Don't forget that Easter is less than two weeks away.  So, this is a perfect opportunity to select some special treats for your Easter baskets!!

PEWABIC POTTERY was founded in 1903 by artist and teacher Mary Chase Perry Stratton.  The company is well-known for the unusual iridescent glaze, covering the pottery and tiles, which has been used on numerous buildings throughout Michigan and the United States.  They also produce many kinds of decorative objects.  The museum's exhibits focus on the company's role in the history of Detroit's Arts and Crafts movement in America.  There are also many galleries that showcase new works by more modern ceramic artists.  They offer ceramics classes, they hold exhibitions, they sell pottery in house and they offer design and fabrication services for public and private buildings.  This is an unusual tour and one that we hope you will learn from and enjoy.
